Quick drawing I had sitting around.

John, one of the Disciples and Mary, Jesus' Mother witnessing that terrible, unfair trial.

Matthew 26

59The chief priests and the whole Sanhedrin were looking for false evidence against Jesus so that they could put him to death. 60But they did not find any, though many false witnesses came forward.

Finally two came forward 61and declared, "This fellow said, 'I am able to destroy the temple of God and rebuild it in three days.' "

62Then the high priest stood up and said to Jesus, "Are you not going to answer? What is this testimony that these men are bringing against you?" 63But Jesus remained silent.
The high priest said to him, "I charge you under oath by the living God: Tell us if you are the Christ,[e] the Son of God."

64"Yes, it is as you say," Jesus replied. "But I say to all of you: In the future you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Mighty One and coming on the clouds of heaven."

65Then the high priest tore his clothes and said, "He has spoken blasphemy! Why do we need any more witnesses? Look, now you have heard the blasphemy. 66What do you think?"
"He is worthy of death," they answered.

wow I love the emotion in this. :3
Yeah, the Sanhedrin were breaking their own rules...

For one thing, a trial could not be held at night, nor on a Sabbath or on a feast day.

Plus, there has to be witnesses who have seen real an actual offense--they made up charges.

Oh, and another illegality was they changed the charges on the way to Pilate--from blasphemy to trying to start up a rebellion.

'Course, they didn't give a ripsnort. They wanted Him out of the picture.

And... do you plan to have a pic of that ultimate turncoat Judas Iscariot?

Good things come to those who wait~
Amazing the emotion shown here is brilliant. I went to a catholic school and every year we had to do the stations of the cross and one of them was the trail of jesus and the pictures used were always so serene you know Jesus praying with the halo and looking depressed while his trialers looked bored and the audience well they all looked bored too. I always thought how inacruate that must of been I can imagine Jesus accepting what he knows as his fate but the diciples well I see them like this and the more active outspoken ones well I always pictured them yelling at the priests. But thats just me...

John is probably my fave of the disciples. Tying with Peter probably. Or Philip. Dang it!

Anyway, I really like John, so I'm getting a really kick out of this picture. XD Your Biblical pieces make me smile.

When you have only two pennies left in the world, buy a loaf of bread with one, and a lily with the other.
Wonderful, as always...

Good to see you're back ;P
