7 He was oppressed and afflicted,
yet he did not open his mouth;
he was led like a lamb to the slaughter,
and as a sheep before her shearers is silent,
so he did not open his mouth.
8 By oppression [a] and judgment he was taken away.
And who can speak of his descendants?
For he was cut off from the land of the living;
for the transgression of my people he was stricken.
powerful image of love, this is so beautiful because not of what it represents but it reminds me of the great cost that Jesus had to pay so that we could be free.
What an incredible gift, to have the chance to be born again, a new life a fresh start.
So it's an image of hope too, even for those who may think they are beyond hope. Jesus went through EVERYTHING, from being mocked, bullied, tortured, lied to, cheated, scorned... He's been there.
He's had his flesh ripped from his body, he's felt the sting of many blades as the soldiers whipped him, so he knows the feeling of being cut. He's delt with the sick both physically and mentally... he knows the demons we fight with. He healed those who suffered and set them free. He knows what we've been through, what we're going through, and what we will go through. Finally, he's stepped into the darkness that is death, he met the Reaper and allowed himself to be taken by death.
The good news is:
This isn't the end.
Jesus turned back time, turned back the rules. He broke the law, because he was perfect. Because he was the Son of God. Death could not hold him. He came back, and stands triumphant. Now we fight for the souls of many who have been blinded by this world. By the lies, but the truth will shine forth. If there is evil in this world, there must be good. Perhaps that is why evil fights so hard, because the Good is fighting even harder.
Thanks Tazi. This is an amazing and powerful testiment to the greatest gift God's ever given us and of his Love for us.

"Grace is illogical, just as unconditional love is immeasureable."
Emotional and powerful, but... personally I dont see Jesus crying... Sad of course but i dunno... I think I have a different image of god than other people do.
