Riot Gear by Tazi-san Riot Gear by Tazi-san
I was doing a study on police uniforms and I ended up drawing one of my characters. So here is Marshall in riot gear. Nothing cuter than a rodent in uniform. =D

Argh, he should be holding a tonfa (side-handled police baton). The sheild is probably too small, but my emphasis was the uniform. I also just noticed how many police characters I have. 0_o

I have such an admiration for good police officers, God bless 'em. There are those people I think God specifically created to be warriors and protectors. I don't think they get paid nearly enough for the degree of work they do.

Character (C) Tazia Hall

Yay! Police officer love! :-) Also, I love the riot police look. I wanted to use it for a live action movie I was going to do, but it got too expensive...

Awww Marshall's sooo freaking cute! I feel the need to draw him now XD Yup! Nothing cuter than a rodent in a police uniform. Haha, I never would have thought of a hamster police officer! Simply brilliant!

I actually thought of making him a vole, so the tail will be slightly longer, just slightly . . . ^^; Voles still look kinda roley-poley like hamsters, but their tail-lengths vary. They're also called field mice sometimes, which fits since he's also a farmboy. I love the little whiskers too.

A drawing would be nice too :-)

Yeah, police have very action filled jobs, unless your a small town cop (not much intense action).

But they looks to be more SWAT, wouldn't they have riot shotguns or machineguns?

Oh no, a riot-gun is an semi-automatic shotgun, not necessarily for riots ;)

You should see the police from Peru, hehe, carrying around .44 revolvers and M16's. Yep, remember my first morning there, could here a tank rolling down the street, don't need any alarm clock there.

So they'd just gun down a riot? I'd think they'd have tear gas, dogs, and stuff 0_o

As mentioned in the description, this is just a study of the uniform.

It's not necessarily SWAT (special weapons and tactics). I looked up a wide variety of riot gear from different countries and they all all look similar to this or even more basic.

Hecks yes!! People should have more appreciation for police officers! My dad is a cop, and one of his friends died in the line of duty, in our own town. I love this pic Baz! God Bless the hometown heros! ^^

you should see what happense when "I" take it forward a few generations.

Would you like to see some riot gear that is heavily advanced?

you can use it if you want.

Thanks so much!

I remember a little while back, I was heading home late and I was going too fast. I ended up going through a red light :O I got pulled over and the officer only said, "You know you went through a red light right?" I conceded and he let me off with a warning. He looked sincerely concerned. :thanks: I still feel pretty thankful for that and my driving has gotten less crazy. =D

Your comment re: admiration of good police officers reminds me of the police officers in Thailand. If you read the news re: the demonstrators in Thailand, there is one thing darn unfair: demonstrators hurt police = okay, police hurts demonstrators = public outrage. Oh, how messed up is the world. Well, Thailand, at least.

However, this may just be me but the bottom of the shield looks like it's going behind the strap and gun but still in front of the leg.
But like I said, might just be me.

I used a direct visual reference. There was no deep, profound mental remembering going on. That's why it's a study :XD:

From what I learned in figure drawing classes, it's good to have a grasp of the human form, how is bends and functions. Everything from countour study (drawing the curves of the outer edge), to stick figures and scribbles to get the poses down. I measure angles with my pencil then transfer it to my paper by holding my arm stiff.

Then you observe real people and how clothes/drapery hangs off them. I stare at people's pants and stuff in public and my sister thinks I'm so strange for it. I like to take a mini-sketchbook when I go to the mall too.

I hope I didn't make it sound more complicated than it is ^^;
