Mary and Martha by Tazi-san Mary and Martha by Tazi-san
That's Lazarus in the background, btw.

---

Luke 10:38-42:

As Jesus and his disciples were on their way, he came to a village where a woman named Martha opened her home to him. She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet listening to what he said. But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked, “Lord, don’t you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!”

“Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things, but few things are needed—or indeed only one. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.”

---

Not saying we shouldn't do our chores but if it's costing us our sanity then we need to re-evaluate our priorities.

I love the kitten that's loving on the Lord. So sweet! This is one of my favorite events in the Bible for many reasons! Thank you for illustrating it!

You're welcome and thnx!

It makes me wonder how animals reacted to him since he's their Maker. I mean, animals react to evil spirits, (I've seen it) so it stands to reason...

This scene from the Bible will ALWAYS be marked by the excellent portrayal given in Adventures in Odyssey. It was one of my favorite stories since it really, I think, humanizes Jesus in his relationship with Mary, Martha and Lazarus--they weren't just followers but very dear friends and very nearly family, I would guess.
